2006 Lokahi Recycling Project

The Student Council decided that our Fall Recycling Drive, held on November 29th, should benefit the Lokahi Drive for needy families on Oahu. This way our students and families could do something to encourage recycling, and help needy children have a happy holiday at the same time.
We were able to purchase (20)-$25 gift cards from Longs, (20)-$25 gift cards from WalMart and (18)-$25 gift cards from Foodland for a grand total of $1450.00. This will certainly help many families in Hawaii have a brighter Christmas this year.
Our representatives took the gift cards to the Lokahi Drive being held at Ala Moana Shopping Center on December 2nd. Leslie Wilcox, KHON newscaster (and Aina Haina alum!) accepted our donation.
Student Council President Justyn W. and Lauren G., representative of the C's Time Recycling Group, make the presentation. Also present were Principal Mrs. S. Okano, PTA President L. Hamasu, and PTA Recycling Chair R. Chun.
