Safety: Morning Drop Offs and Afternoon Pick Ups

Aloha,
We want to thank everyone for their patience and courtesy each morning and afternoon during the busy drop off and pick up times for school. We’d also like to take this opportunity to reiterate some key safety reminders for our campus. The staff and students of AHES do thank everyone in advance for their attention to our campus safety at all times while on campus, but particularly during the very busy drop off and pick-up times.

Please be aware and reminded that there is no campus supervision before 8:00 unless students are in the YMCA Morning Care Program (6:30-8:00) or are having breakfast in the cafeteria (7:30-8:00)
During morning drop off times, please……
  • Drive with patience, courtesy and caution on and around the campus.
  • Park in the mauka gravel lot or in the Makai parking lot if you need to exit your vehicle.
  • All parking within the gate of the cafeteria lot is AHES Staff Parking.
  • Pull completely forward in the auto drop off lines.
  • Have children remain in their seatbelts or booster seats until coming to a complete stop.
  • Have children exit from the passenger side when using either of the auto drop off lines.

Regardless of the time of day or on/off campus, please also take the time to…
  • Always be aware of your surroundings
  • Never leave a child unattended in your vehicle for any amount of time
  • Always lock your vehicle
  • Keep all valuables with you and/or out of view from your windows

With Regards,
Anthony Gayer, Assistant Principal
